The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
The first season introduces a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.
The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a couple people make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
