It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Some will argue the case for championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single came off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.
